Amy received her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University in May 2018. Amy has 10 years of clinical experience working as a psychiatric nurse with children and adolescents in an inpatient setting. In addition, she has counseling experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient and group setting as well as working with children and adolescents in an in-home setting. Amy works with clients with a variety of needs including anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, grief, adjustment issues, crisis related issues, family issues, and spiritual development. Amy also has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma including abuse or neglect. Amy enjoys building therapeutic relationships with her clients and utilizes a holistic, client-centered approach to counseling. In addition, Amy is trained in a variety of treatment modalities to best meet the unique, individual needs of clients and families. Some of the treatment modalities include EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), play therapy, expressive arts therapy, family therapy, and Christian counseling. Amy believes it is a calling and privilege to walk with clients through trials, pain, or uncertainty, and she is passionate about helping clients achieve their personal goals, and experience emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness.
